MediaTek Announces Helio P65
The new Helio P65 SoC comes with 2x ARM Cortex A75 and 6x ARM Cortex A55 cores with a frequency speed up to 2.0GHz. The processor comes with advanced AI performance which is improved up to 2X times than previous generation Helio chipsets. It supports ARM Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU which improves AI-camera tasks as well. Such as object recognition, scene detection, and background blur adjustments in single and dual camera Bokeh images. The MediaTek P65 supports dual camera setup of up to 16MP+16MP with wide-angle and telephoto lens. It also capable of handling a single 48MP sensor as well. Additionally, it supports faster facial recognition for screen unlock and enhanced security options. For videos, the processor supports of up to 2K video recording @30fps.
In terms of the storage options, it supports up to 4GB/8GB of RAM and eMMC 5.1 the device storage type. It includes Wi-Fi (5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, and FM Radio, GPS, etc under the connectivity options. MediaTek claims that the chipset offers better GPS accuracy with GNSS and positioning engine support. Currently, there is no information provided by the company about the chipset launch. However, we can expect the processor will come with mid-range budget smartphones in 2020 Q1. Till then, stay tuned for more info.
