What would Gone Days 2 be like?
Creative Director Jeff Ross commented on his hopes for what the Gone Days sequel could be. He stated, “We have to be able to crawl before you can walk and walk before you can run”. He then explained what he meant by the statement, giving the example of Naughty Dog’s Uncharted franchise and the first Arkham game by Rocksteady. He mentioned that the original games were works that later became unforgettable franchises.
Days Gone 2 Official Release Date
As you might have deduced, currently, there is no official release date for the game. According to the speculation, many believe that Days Gone 2 could arrive sometime in the summer of 2026. You should bear in mind that Studio Bend is working on a new IP, so until the IP hits the PS5 platform, you may see a few delays for Days Gone 2. Before Days Gone, Bend released Uncharted: Fight for Fortune in 2012. After the PS Vita card game came out on the PlayStation store, they spent 7 years developing Days Gone. That is a pretty hefty amount of time. Surprisingly, despite all these years of perfecting the game, it wasn’t received that well by critics. The open world was criticized for having a repetitive gameplay loop, a lot of filler content, and a lack of innovation. While it is true that Days Gone’s E3 reveal was a lot more of a punch, however, the official release wasn’t that great. Developing a sequel to the game will take time, a hefty budget, and an audience that stays devoted for years. Speculating Sony’s outlook, it doesn’t seem that they are that fond of the numbers concerning all three.
